Reining Horses is owned and operated by Scott and Kathy McCutcheon. Located
in Whitesboro, Texas, McCutcheon Reining Horses is a full service training
and breeding operation specializing in Reining Horses.
Scott McCutcheon has
consistently been one of the top trainers in NRHA, AQHA, and APHA competition
since 1982. With over $366,000 in NRHA earnings, Scott has won numerous
industry titles, as well as several APHA and NRHA World Championships.
He also is a multiple NRHA Open Futurity Finalist, NRHA Open Derby Finalist,
and NRBC Open Finalist.
In
1993 Scott rode Dunnit Like A Cowboy to the NRHA Open Futurity Reserve
Championship. In 1997 he rode industry legend Marthas
Mega Jac to an NRHA Open Reserve World Championship.
Scott and Mega Jac
also paired up to win a USET Silver Medal in 1999, and were crowned the
2000 USET Nations Cup Individual Gold Medalists as well. Mega Jac has
since gone on to become one of the top modern day reining sires.
In
2002, Scott McCutcheon had a stellar year that started by first riding
Inwhizable to a 3rd place finish at the USET
Reining Championships in Gladstone, NJ. This secured the pair a slot on
the first ever USET Reining Team, where they represented the United States
at the prestigious World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Spain. While in Spain,
they put in two stellar performances and helped Team USA win the first
ever WEG Reining Gold Medal.
Later
in 2002, Scott teamed up with Any Whiz Way to win numerous fall futurity
titles. And in December of 2002, the duo claimed the NRHA Intermediate
Open Futurity Championship out of over 270 entries.
Kathy McCutcheon also
is heavily involved in reining, and is an accomplished Non Pro herself.
With nearly $18,000 in NRHA earnings, Kathy has been a finalist at many
major events including the NRHA Non Pro Derby and the NRHA Non Pro Futurity.

For the McCutcheons, reining is a family affair. Scott and Kathy's three
daughters, Lindsey, Jodie, and Katie (L to R), also are heavily involved
with horses.
Lindsey, pictured
below, has won numerous titles, including the 2001 APHA World Championship
in Youth Reining 14-18. She also has nearly $5,000 in NRHA earnings to
her credit and has been a finalist at several major NRHA aged events.

Besides training and
riding reiners, the McCutcheons have also bred and raised many outstanding
athletes. The business of breeding is a major component to Scott McCutcheon
Reining Horses.
